Steven Seagal is under siege, as a woman named Kayden Nguyen is out for justice following allegedly heinous acts committed by the actor.

According to TMZ, Nguyen has sued Seagal. The charge: Trafficking women for sex.

A 23-year-old former model, Kayden says she interviewed with Seagal in February 2009 for the position of executive assistant. The good news? She got the gig. The bad news?

'Mr. Seagal had been keeping two young female Russian 'Attendants' on staff who were available for his sexual needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,' she says in the lawsuit.

Because one of these 'Attendants' had recently quit, Kayden alleges she was expected to fulfill those duties. Specifically, Seagal treated her 'as his sex toy,' Nguyen claims, going into detail about how he shoved his hands under her skirt and pants, and attempted to fondle her boobs.

A case of alleged sex trafficking? Sounds like a case for Steven Seagal Lawman!

Along with these allegations of sexual assault, Nguyen accuses the actor of forcing her to consume illegal pills. He supposedly said to her: "My wife wouldn't mind if you and I had a sexual relationship."

Nguyen is seeking over a million dollars in damages.

Seagal has been seeking a respectable movie career for about thirty years now.

They couldn't go back to their old TV show or start a new version of it after all they've been through ... could they? Apparently one of them could at least. Jon Gosselin is 'definitely open' to co-starring with ex-wife Kate, his lawyer said.

Whether it would be a new show or a revamped Jon & Kate Plus 8 remains to be seen, but 'under the right circumstances' Jon would totally be down.

The only caveat, his attorney Anthony F. List stated, is that 'the contract would have to be tighter.' As would the leash Kate had him on, most likely.

Jon's lawyer said having Jon and Kate around the kids more would be a plus, and that he'd 'love to settle' their latest legal dispute that he made up.

Yeah, settle as in get him off the hook for child support maybe.

JON & KATE PLUS ANOTHER SHOW? Don't count it out.

The douchebag filed legal papers asking for primary custody and support last week, citing Kate's Dancing with the Stars gig as proof she's an absentee mom.

While it's kind of a BS argument, as she provides for the kids while he parades around chasing mediocre girls, Jon says he is prepared to press on with it.

Unless Kate cancels her "global commitments, that is."

Jon (hypocritically) feels Kate is 'addicted to the pararazzi' and can't have it both ways as a star and an attentive parent. As opposed to himself ... neither.

He says even if his former spouse is booted from Dancing with the Stars Tuesday (which Tony Dovolani is hoping for) he won't be dropping his custody case.

Kate is 'caught up in the glamour of Hollywood' and will take other job, he says. Which he is outraged by ... unless she cuts him in on it, then it's all good!

I don’t even have words for how disgusting this junk is. These are photos of the oldest looking 23-year-old in the world (excepting Lindsay Lohan), Heidi Montag. Heidi hosted a party in Las Vegas on Saturday - a pool party. So she was wearing a bikini for part of the day (photos of Heidi in the bikini here). But these are photos of Heidi walking the red carpet for the event - ugh. I would call her a walking Barbie doll, but I don’t even think that’s really accurate. She looks like a walking Ken doll, one that is half-way through a sex change operation and wearing a trashy weave. Natural sunlight does not agree with her. Neither does the back scooping, apparently, because the girl can barely stand up straight. She looks like it’s taking all the energy she has to remain relatively upright.

Meanwhile, Heidi and Spencer also made a trip to Camp Pendleton last Thursday, visiting with Marines and taking a tour. No word on whether this was an official USO trip, or whether the Marines were happy to see them (would the Marines care?). Here’s more from People:

Just what haven’t Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt done lately? The reality couple traded Hollywood for a day at the West Coast’s largest Marine Corps facility, Camp Pendleton, Thursday in San Diego County.

“We went to visit Camp Pendleton to see the Marines. They’re the most valiant, honorable and courageous men and women in the United States,” Heidi and Spencer tell PEOPLE exclusively. “It was one of the best days of our lives.”

“Our freedom is so important to us and thanks to these Marines we get to be the entertainers we are. We wanted to take the time to honor them and pay our respects to the Marines who make this country and nation possible and allow us all the freedoms that we enjoy.”

The duo spent the day touring the entire base, spent time visiting with the Marines and took meetings.

“We wanted to find out how we can bring the awareness to these true heroes that don’t get the recognition and honor they deserve,” says the couple.

Montag was so touched, she and Pratt plan to return shortly. She plans to perform her single “Body Language” for 60,000 Marines on the beach at Pendleton on the Fourth of July.

The two even added a new puppy to their brood to commemorate the special day in their lives.

“We named our new member of our family in honor of one the most courageous dedicated humans have ever come in contact with – our pup’s name is Sgt. Maj. Kasal,” whom they met at Camp Pendleton.

This sad news! Actress Dixie Carter passed away Saturday morning under unknown circumstances. She was 70 years old, and she is survived by her two adult daughters Mary Dixie and Ginna, and her husband of 26 years, actor Hal Holbrook (best known to film buffs as Deep Throat in All the President’s Men, and West Wing aficionados as Sec. Albie Duncan, amongst his more than 120 credits). Dixie’s most memorable and beloved role was as Julia Sugarbaker on Designing Women, but she was a working actress for nearly 50 years, and she has more than 35 film and television credits. No one really knows how Dixie died, but Holbrook gave a brief public statement: “This has been a terrible blow to our family. We would appreciate everyone understanding that this is a private family tragedy.” Here’s more:

“Designing Women” star Dixie Carter, whose Southern charm and natural beauty won her a host of television roles, has died at age 70. Carter died Saturday morning, according to publicist Steve Rohr, who represents Carter and her husband, actor Hal Holbrook. He declined to disclose the cause of death or where she died. Carter lived with Holbrook in the Los Angeles area.

“This has been a terrible blow to our family,” Holbrook said in a written statement. “We would appreciate everyone understanding that this is a private family tragedy.”

A native of Tennessee, Carter was most famous for playing wisecracking Southerner Julia Sugarbaker for seven years on “Designing Women,” the CBS sitcom that ran from 1986 to 1993. The series was the peak of a career in which she often played wealthy and self-important but independent Southern women.

She was nominated for an Emmy in 2007 for her seven-episode guest stint on the ABC hit “Desperate Housewives.” Carter’s other credits include roles on the series “Family Law” and “Diff’rent Strokes.”

She married Holbrook in 1984. The two had met four years earlier while making the TV movie “The Killing of Randy Webster,” and although attracted to one another, each had suffered two failed marriages and were wary at first.

They finally wed two years before Carter landed her role on “Designing Women.” Holbrook appeared on the show regularly in the late 1980s as her boyfriend, Reese Watson.

The two appeared together in her final project, the 2009 independent film “That Evening Sun,” shot in Tennessee and based on a short story by Southern novelist William Gay. The middle of three children, Carter was born in 1939 in McLemoresville, Tenn. Carter was the daughter of a grocery and department store owner who died just three years ago at 96. She said at the time of his death that he taught her to believe in people’s essential goodness.

“When I asked him how he handled shoplifting in his new store, which had a lot of goods on display, making it impossible to keep an eye on everything, he said, ‘Most people are honest, and if they weren’t, you couldn’t stay in business because a thief will find a way to steal,’” Carter said. “‘You can’t really protect yourself, but papa and I built our business believing most people are honest and want to do right by you.’”

Carter grew up in Carroll County and made her stage debut in a 1960 production of “Carousel” in Memphis. It was the beginning of a decades-long stage career in which she relied on her singing voice as much as her acting.

She appeared in TV soap operas in the 1970s, but did not become a national star until her recurring roles on “Different Strokes” and another series, “Filthy Rich,” in the 1980s. Those two parts led to her role on “Designing Women,” a comedy about the lives of four women at an interior design firm in Atlanta.

Carter and Delta Burke played the sparring sisters who ran the firm. The series also starred Annie Potts and Jean Smart. The show, whose reruns have rarely left the airwaves, was not a typical sitcom. It tackled such topics as sexism, ageism, body image and AIDS.

“It was something so unique, because there had never been anything quite like it,” Potts told The Associated Press at a 2006 cast reunion. “We had Lucy and Ethel, but we never had that exponentially expanded, smart, attractive women who read newspapers and had passions about things and loved each other and stood by each other.”

Carter appeared on the drama “Family Law” from 1999 to 2002, and in her last major TV appearance she played Gloria Hodge, the surly mother-in-law to Marcia Cross’s Bree on “Desperate Housewives.”

Carter said the role was far from the kindly woman she played on “Designing Women.”

“It’s a vast difference,” Carter said while filming the series. “Gloria Hodge doesn’t have any redeeming qualities except her intelligence.”

In addition to Holbrook, Carter is survived by daughters Mary Dixie and Ginna.

Sigh…so sad. I loved Dixie. I grew up watching Designing Women, and I still watch the occasional rerun. I’m always impressed that the show made it to network television and enjoyed an iced-tea-soaked eight years of now-classic viewership. My favorite part of every show was Julia Sugarbaker’s hissy fits when someone pissed her off and she had to tell them off. Julia’s famous tell-offs were so universal and so popular, 30 Rock even built an episode around Liz Lemon doing a Julia Sugarbaker-inspired tell-off. I was also happy to see Dixie on a recent episode of Law & Order: SVU, as a defense attorney - she was really good!

Anyway, I’m sure her family is devastated… thoughts and prayers to Hal Holbrook and Dixie’s daughters.

The cast of MTV's Jersey Shore has brought its GTL, bed-hopping, first-pumping antics to Miami's South Beach for Season 2, but that's just the beginning.

Lest you thought Seaside Heights, N.J., was a thing of the past, the gang will be returning to the Garden State - in the very same house - don't you worry.

They just got a jump on Season 2 in Miami because of the weather.

'Once the boardwalk heats back up, the series will return to the Jersey Shore to complete the season,' MTV said, noting that the season starts July 29.

All the lovable guidos and guidettes will beat up the beat again: Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi, Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino, Paul 'DJ Pauly D' DelVecchio, Jenni 'JWoww' Farley, Sammi Giancola, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Vinny Guadagnino.

Also returning? Angelina Pivarnick, a.k.a. the random girl who bailed after like one episode, and a.k.a. Kim Kardashian of Staten Island (self-proclaimed).

The network is also exploring adding new cast members to the second season or more likely the third season of the surprise reality hit. Filming dates in Seaside are July 1-September 19, so it looks like a third season is in the works.

'It's like a big family reunion,' said Tony DiSanto, MTV's president of programming. 'We couldn't be more excited that the whole group is together in Miami and that they'll be going back to Jersey when the sun heats up.'

Also heating up? Tempers. MTV worries that more peeps will pick fights with Snooki, Ronnie and company just to get on TV (the stars will likely oblige).

The network has requested additional police presence for the cast. According to the Seaside Heights P.D., MTV wants 8-10 off-duty officers - their tab.

'This has been a terrible blow to our family,' Carter's actor husband and frequent co-star, Hal Holbrook, said in a statement amid the terrible news.

'We appreciate everyone understanding this is a private family tragedy.'

Dixie Carter (1939-2010).

Aside from playing Julia Sugarbaker on Designing Women opposite Delta Burke, Annie Potts and Jean Smart, Carter appeared in Family Law and Diff'rent Strokes and scored an Emmy nomination for a guest stint on Desperate Housewives.

Carter was also an accomplished singer and Broadway star, whose credits included Thoroughly Modern Millie, Pal Joey and Master Class.

She and Holbrook began dating after working together in the 1980 TV movie The Killing of Randy Webster and married four years later.

Earlier this week, Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy broke up, ending a five-year relationship.

It looks like the comedian has no interest in starting a new one any time soon, considering his take on the Tiger Woods scandal.

First, he Tweeted a relatively harmless joke on Thursday, writing: 'I think it's time we checked our collective EGO and let the guy play! If you really wanna see sexual disfunction get 2 know your favorite basketball star! Curling is the only safe sport 4 a married man.'

There's certainly truth to that statement, as almost every world famous athlete - from Alex Rodriguez to Muhammad Ali to Kobe Bryant to Michael Jordan - has cheated on his wife.

But this is where Carrey may have lost his female fan base:

'No wife is blind enough to miss that much infidelity,' he later Tweeted. 'Elin had 2 b a willing participant on the ride 4 whatever reason. kids/lifestyle ;^)'

We'll never know the truth, of course, but Elin's reaction has been anything but one of acquiescence. Unlike jilted spouses such as Vanessa Bryant and Jenny Sanford, she didn't sit next to her husband during his apologetic press conference.

She isn't at The Masters, hasn't worn her wedding ring in months and totally won't put out for Tiger.

There's also a decent chance she hit him in the face with a golf club upon learning about Rachel Uchitel. You might wanna sleep with one eye open, Jim!

After receiving such acclaim for his performance, Chun spoke to The Associated Press about his life:

'I now have more confidence in pursuing a singing career. You don't have to be a good-looking man or woman to succeed. Just be yourself and try your best.'

Lin said he suffered from a lack of self-esteem growing up because 'being fat draws a lot of mockery in our society.

However, those difficult times helped the aspiring singer hone his talent: to cope with taunts from peers, Chun locked himself in his room and sang along to hits by Celine Dion and Mariah Carey.

But he loved Houston's take on the famous Dolly Parton classic the best: 'I played it again and again even though my parents couldn't stand it anymore and asked me to stop,' Lin said of the single that's made him famous.

Still a suspect in his wife's murder, Bruce Beresford-Redman has been released by Mexican authorities.

But a Los Angeles court has granted temporary custody of his children (ages five and three) to the former TV producer's parents. The children will reside with these relatives while police determine if Beresford-Redman played a role in his wife's death.

'My wife and I are grief-stricken at the loss of our beloved daughter-in-law,' Bruce's father, David Beresford-Redman, said yesterday. 'We know our son loved Monica and would never have harmed her.'

That's not what Carla Burgos says, however. She claims Bruce was having an affair and is positive he's responsible for her sister's murder.

Beresford-Redman has been handed over to the U.S. Consolate and taken to an undisclosed location in Mexico.

'He can't leave the country,' said Francisco Alor, attorney general for the state of Quintana Roo. 'We still can't say that he is responsible, but that's the starting point of the investigation because we have witnesses who say he was the last to see her alive.'

Wow. Classy. Not surprisingly, Mischa was hurt by Greasy's words.

'She was chain-smoking the entire night,' says a partygoer, who adds that both she and Lindsay, who have spent time in rehab, were drinking, too. 'Mischa was never without a cigarette in her hand - and a puss on her face.'

That's more disgusting than the thought of Greasy Bear naked. To her credit, Barton called it a night around 12, while Linds was partying like mad 'til 6.

'She was running around until 6 in the morning,' a spy dished. 'She was on a terrible path as is, and her father's antics are only making things worse.'

Not that Mischa's friends are willing to accept excuses for Lindsay.

'Lindsay is not a good influence on her,' one says. 'They should not be hanging out. Lindsay is an enabler, and that's the last thing Mischa needs now.'

No word on whether Lindsay herself is Mischa's weed hookup.

The former Boston Legal cast member now stars as the lead on Fox's Human Target.

Date Night stars Tina Fey and Steve Carell, actors responsible for uttering 30 Rock quotes and The Office quotes each week that leave us in stiches.

Therefore, you'd expect the film to be the funniest of the year; heck, of the last 10 years.

Instead, it's simply an average comedy. You'll laugh out loud a couple times, and probably have a smirk on your face throughout its 88-minute running time. But considering it stars two comedic heavyweights, the movie is a letdown.

The reason is simple, too: instead of relying on a funny script, Date Night relies too heavily on its leads. Certain lines may be humorous because Fey or Carell delivers them, but there's nothing in the plot or dialogue itself that stands out.

It comes as no surprise, for example, that the best scene in the film involves a stripper routine that Carell improvised.

It's a shame that the on-screen debut of Fey and Carel as a team didn't take place in a movie penned by the actress herself. She wrote Mean Girls, after all, an underrated classic. She was also the head writer for years on Saturday Night Live and the main influence on 30 Rock.

Instead of Fey's brilliant, snarky one-liners (the kind that have earned Alec Baldwin numerous Emmy nominations), her and Carell are stuck doing slapstick and reciting jokes that are far beneath them.

We understand that Carell doesn't want to simply do a version of Michael Scott in every role, but this is an actor who's at his funniest when he recites ridiculous dialogue, or finds himelf in ridiculous situations, that his character takes seriously. He's a master at subtlety and at sarcasm.

Neither of those are on display in Date Night, as finds Fey driving herself a car, with Carell on the hood, and screaming for him to 'Move your ass, honey!' Typical situations such as that just make us wish we were watching Liz Lemon.

But the film isn't awful. It also features Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis and James Franco, a solid cast all-around.

'Last I checked, Sarah Palin is not much of an expert on nuclear issues,' Barack Obama told ABC, declining to elaborate but adding an additional jab at critics.

'What I'd say to them is that if the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff are comfortable with this, I'm probably going to take my advice from them, and not from Sarah Palin,' he told George Stephanopolous.

CB already covered part of this, just because she’s a True Blood fan girl, and who doesn’t love a good photo of a sweaty Alexander Skarsgard? Anyway, Details finally unveiled the complete trio of True Blood covers, plus additional photos of hotties Skarsgard, Stephen Moyer and Ryan Kwanten, plus big interviews with all three men.

Since I don’t watch True Blood and I’m really not invested in knowing if these dudes have good personalities, I only skimmed the interview (complete piece here). Alexander comes off like a sweetheart, as always, and very humble and down-to-earth. Stephen Moyer sounds a little haughty, a little naughty, and like he’s probably a lot of fun, and probably really good in bed. And Ryan Kwanten, who I knew nothing about before today, comes across sort of interesting. But it’s like he’s trying to prove that he’s not a “meathead” as his character his described. He’s trying a little hard, but maybe with someone else, it would be cute. What is fascinating to me that we have a Swede, an Englishman and an Aussie who have all found fame on an American television show about vampires and sex. It’s weird, right?

In the end, I didn’t find anything fascinating in the interviews, but the photos are killing me, so I thought I’d do a little caption game for them, just for fun:

It's not hard to imagine where Beauvais-Nilon went from there, is it? This is what the widely-circulated email allegedly says:

“What do they have in common . . . I found out today that MY husband of almost 9 yrs has been having an affair for 5 yrs with some slut in Chicago. I am devastated!!!! And I have been duped!! Our boys don’t deserve this!”

It could be worse, Garcelle. That 'slut' could also be a lying Nazi worshipper. Just sayin.

The couple has twin two-year old boys named Jax and Jaid. Shortly after they were born, the actress said about her husband:

“He’s just really loving. He loves me no matter what I look like. It’s really important to find somebody that you love and you want to share your life with, and especially when there’s kids involved. We don’t take it lightly.”

I have a hard time believing this for two reasons: first, there is no way Bill Clinton would be “intimate” with a woman like Martha because she is nowhere near trashy and young enough for him. And second, I don’t think Hillary gives a crap what Bill does anymore. She’s got her own career and her own thing going on. I always thought that she stayed with Bill for the very specific reason of building her own name and career in politics, and now that she’s a success in her own right, I don’t think she could be bothered with Bill’s indiscretions. Now, Martha, on the other hand? I think she is just that big of a bitch that she totally would launch a revenge plan on someone that could include seducing their husband. I have to laugh at the whole sordid story though - doesn’t it sound like something straight out of a “Dynasty” episode?

Then, just a few days later, The NY Post went into hyper drive and found out that Ginny was eight months pregnant with twins, and that Tiki had been carrying on an affair with a 23-year-old NBC intern named Traci. Now the Post has dug up even more about Tiki and his relationship with this girl, including that Tiki “lavished her with roses, jewelry and designer clothes.” They also have some gossipy sources telling all about Ginny’s feelings about this whole ordeal:

Tiki Barber has fumbled again.

The ex-Giants star came clean to his unsuspecting wife late last year, admitting he was starting to shack up with a much younger blonde, sources said yesterday.

But Ginny Barber was “devastated” to learn Tiki began his torrid affair with temptress Traci Lynn Johnson much earlier in their marriage — and long before she became pregnant with twins.

“She had no idea what was going on. She had no idea about this relationship with Traci Johnson until he left in late November,” one source close to the Barber family said. “There were no [apparent] problems in the marriage.

“Ginny is devastated by this. All of this came out of the blue for Ginny. People may say, ‘How could she not know?’ But she really didn’t. Tiki is a guy who travels a lot.”

Barber bought that exotic car in 2003, according to a Web posting by Maserati, which noted at the time, “Tiki is considered a model athlete, not only for his athletics, but for his clean living lifestyle.”

Sources told The Post yesterday that Tiki’s lucrative contract with NBC’s “Today” show — whose 10 a.m. hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford talked about the scandal yesterday — could soon end.

An NBC source said, “Barber signed with NBC for a lot of money, up to $2 million, which is a great deal more money than their other correspondents earn.

“But he proved to be a disappointment on screen, and he has recently been used less and less. His contract is up for renewal soon, and this is a good excuse to get rid of him.”

A “Today” rep refused to comment, but a source said, “Tiki Barber is currently a ‘Today’ show contributor.”

Barber’s agent, Mark Lepselter said, “Tiki has a contract with NBC, and I’ve heard nothing to the contrary.”

Lepselter also said that Barber — who in the past has fumed about how his dad abandoned him and his twin brother Ronde as kids– “hasn’t abandoned his family.”

“This guy is a very active father,” Lepselter said, noting that Barber spent his 35th birthday Wednesday playing sports with his and Ginny’s two sons, A.J., 7, and Chason, 6.

Anyway, Rachel has a new movie called Waiting for Forever, and the premiere was last night in New York. This white Preen dress was what she wore - what do you think? It’s weird, right? Like it could have been really special and cute and amazing, but the designer f-cked it up with those strange boob cups and the rib cage cut-out. If the stuff from the waist up was changed only slightly, she would have looked amazing. Eh.

Bilson — who has been engaged to her Jumper costar Hayden Christensen, 28, since February 2009 — recently admitted to Cleo magazine that she’s obsessed with shopping.

This week’s US Weekly is all about how Kate Gosselin is an entitled diva and a mean, talentless pain in the ass on Dancing with The Stars. We’ve already covered some of that, but there’s more that came out, including the detail that Kate’s partner Tony Dovolani, “can’t wait to get rid of her, even if it means losing early.” Kate is said to have told Tony that “I’m the reason anyone knows your name.”

US Weekly also reports that Kate gave some statements to E! News on Wednesday that were just dripping with attitude. She said “I can’t put my life aside and dance for six hours a day.” Kate has walked out of dancing rehearsals to get her nails done, go shopping and get coffee, so I guess she considers those activities her “life.” I’m so sure she brought some of her kids with her.

Delusional Kate also thinks that she can dance. She said “It’s not my lack of ability, but lack of presence. I struggle with this every day. But I have determination.” It’s not her lack of ability? Has she even seen one of her performances? She also said she takes “the constructive criticism only” from the judges. She rolls her eyes at all the other criticism.

Meanwhile Kate is still harping on her belief that her kids love having the cameras around and says they’re “so excited” for their return to reality television, which was just announced yesterday. Kate will also get her own reality show in which she travels around dispensing her unique brand of me-focused wisdom to women around the country:

Clad in a short black cocktail dress with silver embellishments and black strappy high-heel sandals, Kate Gosselin spoke about her upcoming TLC show, Twist of Kate, at the Discovery Communications’ NYC Upfront Thursday.

Reading from a teleprompter, she told the crowd she is “excited” to “share with you the next chapter in my life.” The show, which debuts this summer, will follow the single mother, 35, as she raises her eight children, as well as profile other women who are also in their own challenging situations.

Five year old kids do thrive on structure and consistency, but the cameras haven’t been around for months. They’re only going to have their lives disrupted by filming at this point, although of course Kate thinks she’s doing it all for them and their benefit. It has nothing to do with her children and everything to do with Kate’s need to be the center of attention. Speaking of that, US had an inset in this week’s print edition about how Kate staged Easter a day early for the paparazzi in order to make sure that the photo shoot included her, not her husband Jon. They write “a source contends Kate’s motivation [for having an Easter egg hunt a day early] was one-upmanship - she planned the last-minute event because ex-husband Jon told her he planned to have one [on Easter]. ‘Kate was just going to buy the kids something Easter-y from L.A., but when she found out Jon’s intentions she beat him to it… she went to Target the night before to get supplies.” It’s all for her kids, because they’re her priority!

With the upcoming release of his new memoir, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Future,” Fox shares his point of view on how the diagnosis of Parkinsons’ disease actually made him a better husband, father and overall human being. The cover of the book is a wry take on his “Back to the Future” movies - an image of an overturned skateboard and two sneakered feet stretched out on the ground - an homage to his skateboarding Marty McFly character.

Michael J. Fox says that being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease was the best thing that ever happened to him.

That’s the stunning admission the beloved actor makes in his upcoming book, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Future…” according to a publishing source. The book is being released by Hyperion this month.

Before being stricken with Parkinson’s in 1991, Michael says he was a “schmuck” who drank too much and cruised through life in the fast lane.

The dreaded Parkinson’s diagnosis shortly after his father’s death sent him into a downward spiral of depression, he reveals in the book.

For a while, Michael drank and took his medications at the same time, trying to mask his pain. But eventually, the boozing isolated him from his wife Tracy and their four children, leaving him feeling even more hopeless.

He drank so much, he started experiencing toxic side effects, he reveals.

After hitting rock bottom, Michael realized he wasn’t going to die soon. He says he was forced to be a better person, and credits the disease with turning his life around.

In the book, Michael, 48, points out that he’s not the eternal optimist people often believe him to be.

He views himself as a realist, saying that while life delivered him a catastrophe, the disease brought him a richer life.

The only way this could be better is if we could hear Clive Owen growl these beautiful words. Sigh… anyway, Clive does some work with a charity called The Aegis Trust. The Trust “campaigns against crimes against humanity and genocide” and operated the Kigali Memorial Centre in Rwanda and the Holocaust Memorial and Educational Centre in the UK. They also do a lot of war-crimes/genocide education in the UK and Canada. Basically, it sounds like a really amazing charity. Clive did some work with The Aegis Trust last year, on the “Candles for Rwanda” project, and since then, Clive’s daughters kept asking him to take them to Rwanda. Because Clive is such an amazing man, he raises genocide-conscious young women. *SWOON*

So Clive traveled to Rwanda with his daughters, and then wrote about his trip for the trust’s site and the London Times:

‘When are we going to Rwanda?” my 13-year-old daughter kept asking. She wanted to go there as soon as I was asked to visit the country to show solidarity with its people. She wasn’t asking in a naive, childish way; she knew that it was a serious thing, marking the anniversary of the Rwandan genocide. Initially, the scheduling wasn’t working out, but Hannah kept on reminding me.

And so, almost a year later — thanks to her and the Aegis Trust — I’m standing in the Kigali Genocide Memorial, trying to get my head around what happened in 1994, what that means for Rwanda today and what, if anything, it might mean for the rest of us.

Sixteen years can feel like a lifetime. But when you’re facing the fallout of a genocide, as I discovered in Rwanda, it can feel like no time at all.

It’s very hard for an individual to take on the concept of a million people dying in 100 days. But as soon as you listen to one person’s story you start to relate on a human level, and you begin to realise just how devastating it was. The centre at Kigali was at its most powerful when it got personal.

A few days later I’m sitting in Winifred’s front room. Her home is a rudimentary affair, involving mud walls and a thatched roof, but it’s fairly standard in a country where, despite astonishing economic progress, most people still earn little more than £1 a day. But the emptiness in her eyes tells you that no amount of material progress will solve what’s eating this woman.

Pregnant during the genocide, Winifred gave birth after being raped, beaten and left for dead. She was unable to protect her newborn baby, and the child was dragged away and eaten by dogs. Today she has Aids from the rape, and is unable to support herself without charity, because of the loss of breadwinners in her family during the genocide.

Her son, then 10 years old, witnessed everything. He now has enormous psychological problems. It’s little wonder. In Rwanda, where psychological support is an unaffordable luxury, the need is overwhelming.

For the sake of Rwanda’s future, there is no question that reconciliation is the only way forward. At the same time, survivors such as Winifred are living almost next door to perpetrators. It’s ridiculously naive to think that a victim of the genocide can just bury what happened to them and move on. Reconciliation can’t be rushed. It’s going to take time, sensitivity, careful handling and proper education.

The danger is that with all the tragedies happening around the world, people think of the Rwandan genocide as something that’s over. From what I saw, however, it is happening; it’s not a past thing. Its consequences are clearly spilling from one generation to the next. We can’t restore what was destroyed, but we can — and we should — acknowledge that suffering and help survivors to pick up the pieces. It’s not all doom and gloom, though. Rwanda is a stunningly beautiful country, and there’s a palpable sense of hope for the future.

It doesn’t feel like a cynical place, which is incredible, considering what happened. Going to Rwanda has changed my life in some ways. The impact of those five days is still reverberating around me, and it’s become part of everything I do. Because it’s one thing to hear about things, it’s another to be there and see it and smell it, and witness the people who have lived it.

The overriding feeling I came away with was not that there was a group of awful people doing terrible things during that time, it’s that we, as human beings, have the potential to do it. You don’t have to have an evil disposition to get involved in the horrors of something like this.

People there were swept up into doing such things that, years later, they are still asking themselves why. To try to have a level of understanding of that is hugely important. It’s not about them and us. We have the potential to be those people. It’s a situation that develops that you have to be incredibly careful about.

Today we would probably still let a situation like the Rwandan genocide happen all over again somewhere else. To me, that’s the tragedy of it — and one reason why the work of genocide prevention is so important.

Jesse James has been named “The Most Hated Man in America” by Entertainment Weekly magazine. What’s more is that his daredevil reality show on Spike TV, the ironically named “Jesse James is a Dead Man,” has been canceled by the network. According to the National Enquirer the show, which first aired last May, will not be renewed despite the fact that it premiered to solid ratings.

Arguably, the most despised serial cheater in America, Sandra Bullock’s bad boy hubby Jesse James has been axed.

The reality lothario’s Spike TV show Jesse James is a Dead Man has been canceled.

Allegedly, the decision to deep-six the dogged Jesse came before his cheating was outed by tattooed mistress Michelle McGee.

Experts say the 41 year old is more than radioactive with tawdry tales of homemade Nazi sex tapes with other women and his betrayal of America’s sweetheart, his Oscar winning wife, Sandy.

Entertainment Weekly even went so far to name him “The Most Hated Man in America” despite his rush to rehab in a desperate bid to save his meal ticket marriage in the wake of a Tiger-like parade of alleged mistresses.

As The ENQUIRER reported previously, Sandra has an iron-clad prenup with the West Coast Choppers guru which nets him nada if caught cheating.

That’s good news that Bullock’s prenup will protect her assets. I remember hearing that before but the detail kind of got lost amid all the other sordid stories. So was Tiger Woods the most hated man before James came along or was James always the main contender? We don’t really know much about Tiger’s wife while many of us identify with Bullock and felt personally offended when she was so massively betrayed. (I would be interested to read Entertainment Weekly’s article on this to hear their reasoning for bestowing James with the title, but it isn’t yet online.)

Kate Gosselin is officially taking over reality TV.

From the TLC hit Jon & Kate Plus 8, to her current stint on Dancing with the Stars, she's become a staple. Now fans can prepare for an-all new Twist of Kate.

Seriously, that's the name of her new show. As an added bonus, the network will be milking its cash cow to the max this summer with Kate Plus 8 specials.

As the title points out, the Kate Plus 8 specials will focus on her life as a single mom and costar the young Gosselin brood she's now accused of abandoning.

Meanwhile, in 12 episodes beginning this summer, Twist of Kate will feature Kate responding to fan letters from those inspired by her, who apparently exist.

A face that definitely needs to be on TV more often.

According to USA Today, her story is seen by fans a means to profile women in their own challenging situations, and will form the focal point of her new show.

'I look at it as a loose concept,' Kate says, stating the obvious. 'I just want to be out there learning from others, helping to provide insight whenever I can.'

She adds, 'I don't consider myself an expert on anything.'

Kate does, however, steadfastly defend her own parenting, calling Jon Gosselin's attempt to wrest custody away from her a pathetic, desperate maneuver.

In the end, it comes down to support from those who love her: 'The fact that people support me and want the kids and I to do well is flattering,' she says.

'I never understood the importance of fans until we struggled with tough times.'

Yesterday, we heard about Miley Cyrus’s new home, just minutes away from her parents’ house in California. Miley talked about how cool it was going to be to live on her own, and how her mom was going to decorate everything, and how her new “Zen” pad would be open to all. I theorized that once Miley was ensconced in her new bachelorette pad, she would quickly move in boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. She’s in love, y’all, and by all accounts, the Cyrus family already allows Liam to spend the night in the family home. Anyway, it looks like things just got a tad more complicated - OK Magazine is reporting that Miley has her heart set on marrying Liam, not just shacking up with him:

The other day, I noticed that George Clooney had actually released a statement denying that he and Elisabetta Canalis had broken up. I put it in the links, and I really didn’t think that much about it, because let’s face it - Clooney is going to dump Canalis. For the record, it was a British source that ran with the breakup story, and Clooney released this statement to the press: “Once again the story is made up, spread to other outlets and now denied… But don’t let facts get in the way of a good story.” Sounds a bit snotty.

I mean, it’s not like he’s going to be with Canalis forever. He’s going to dump her at some point, I don’t care how many gushy tabloid pieces run about how Canalis “tamed” the bachelor beast known only as The Clooney. Granted, I thought they had already broken up, just after their disastrous joint appearance at the Oscars. Clooney skipped off to Hawaii to film a movie, and Canalis was nowhere to be seen. She’s been MIA for about a month now, allegedly working on her fledgling Hollywood career by filming a guest spot on Leverage.

Anyway, I just wanted to mention that Elisabetta trotted down to Hawaii to spend some time with her man. Just in time! By my count, they haven’t seen each other in a month, but People Mag notes that they were spotted (photo here) “sharing lunch on the Hawaiian set – he in costume and she dressed casually in short-shorts and a T-shirt.” What kind of hold does Canalis have on him? Kate Gosselin really is the diva queen of keeping her much maligned name in the press. After Kate escaped elimination on “Dancing with the Stars” for her third laughably bad yet defiant performance TLC announced that they’re going to launch a new Kate Gosselin reality show this summer called “Twist of Kate”. The concept involves Kate visiting and “helping” fans with personal issues, for which she serves as some kind of (twisted) role model. If Kate Gosselin is your role model, you know you have problems.

As if that isn’t enough, they’ll air new “Kate Plus 8″ specials featuring footage of Kate with her kids. Love or hate her, people want to see Kate and her bitchface doing it “for her kids.” It’s all for her kids, and she just needs to chronicle those family memories for posterity, cash and fame.

Kate Gosselin is struggling as a hoofer on Dancing With the Stars, but she already has found her new calling: using her role as an “example mom” to help and learn from others…

TLC announces plans today for the Jon & Kate Plus 8 star to get her own series, Twist of Kate, and to revisit her family life, without ex-husband Jon, in a series of Kate Plus 8 specials. It’s part of a plan to build on the channel’s growth that also includes Sarah Palin’s Alaska, a travelogue series about the state and its high-profile former governor.

In Twist of Kate, Gosselin will use fan letters from women inspired by her story as the basis for profiles of women facing their own challenges. Twelve episodes will start airing in late summer.

How is Kate going to help these women - by lecturing and nagging them until they just give in and agree with her? How is it helpful to her kids to continue showing them on television? It isn’t, and Kate will do whatever it takes to suck every last drop of fame. Sadly, it’s working for her, even if she’s primarily getting negative press.

Jon Gosselin filed for primary custody of the couples’ eight children yesterday, citing Kate’s job on Dancing with The Stars and calling her an “absentee mom.” Kate’s lawyer called Jon’s filing “incoherent” and noted that Jon’s address wasn’t even listed with the paperwork. Maybe that’s because he’s been living with friends and has no fixed address. At least mean mom Kate has a job.

Spoiler alert: If you haven’t caught up with the Wednesday night results show of American Idol, don’t read this. American Idol’s judges employed their one-per-season “save” last night in order to keep Mike Lynche (”Big Mike”) in the competition. Mike had the lowest number of votes after the “Lennon/McCartney” themed show in which he sang a R&B version of “Eleanor Rigby.”

We were told to brace for ”a surprise or two.” We were warned that ‘’shocking results” were imminent. And yes, while the sight of Michael Lynche preparing to sing his way out of a ninth-place finish was not the result I’d have forecasted, I wouldn’t go so far as to say it was the biggest jaw-dropper from tonight’s results-show telecast.

Au contraire, that honor is really a tossup among a wide range of incidents that occurred during the hour-long program. We had Randy Jackson eschewing his typically idiotic chorus of boos during Simon Cowell’s introduction — for the second time this season. We had Ryan praising Simon’s constructive criticism of one of the contestants. We had new (and better) glasses from Andrew Garcia, new(ish) attitude from Ellen DeGeneres, and a new single from Rihanna that required an assist from a female dancer taking a side grinder to her own metal-plated corset. (Today’s water-cooler discussion topic: Would Lacey Brown have made the Idol summer tour if she’d pulled a similar stunt during ”Ruby Tuesday”?) We had the judges exercising the ‘’save” option on someone other than Crystal Bowersox. And we had Katie Stevens managing not to uncork a stunning stream of expletives when they did it.

Oh, I know, I know, I’m being beastly. The shiny, happy teenager who’s doing it all for grandma probably doesn’t have the mouth of a truck-stop waitress at the bottom end of a Saturday-night shift. But who’d have blamed the kid if she let loose a couple f-bombs to close the show, before painting on a smile and submitting to a bear hug from the contestant whose arms resemble two unwieldy sides of beef?

In all seriousness, though, there are potential consequences to Big Mike’s last minute salvation — namely, the fact that two contestants (whose names most likely don’t rhyme with Pig Psych) will take the long and winding road to possible future obscurity this time next week. And in a season where vote totals are apparently only being announced in lump sums (132 million in seven weeks, everybody! woohoo!), where ”what have you done for me lately?” is an operating principle and not just a fierce Janet Jackson jam, there was (up till now) a certain comfort in knowing an override button existed to undo the random acts of text-message violence.

But even if you’re like me, flummoxed that Big Mike’s solid neo-soul interpretation of ”Eleanor Rigby” was somehow deemed less speed-dial-worthy than Aaron Kelly’s latest turgid ballad or Andrew Garcia’s fifth disappointing sequel to ”Straight Up,” the question remains: Did the burly dude deserve to be the sole season 9 recipient of the Judges’ Save?

The way the “save” rule works is, one contestant per season can be spared at the discretion of the judges, but the following week, two contestants with the lowest votes have to go.

I have to admit that I’ve stopped watching the show and there’s one reason: a shaggy-haired, tone-deaf hack named Tim Urban, who continues to defy good musical taste by returning week after week to mangle yet another song. I just couldn’t watch him kill the Beatles this week, so I skipped it. Just as I predicted, Tim was “safe” and someone more talented was sent to the chopping block. I’m glad the judges chose to save Big Mike, but I still don’t understand how Tim Urban gets more votes. The boy can’t sing and his stupid frat boy haircut makes me crazy.

Details on what's transpired between the pair since the scandal erupted are scarce, though by all accounts, Bullock wants nothing to do with the cheating jackass.

She's even taken out a restraining order, if you believe the above celebrity gossip cover, in addition to preparing divorce papers. Unlikely, yes, but who knows.

Former Guns N Roses and Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash was the musical guest on last night’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” In a sneaky show of Conan O’Brien solidarity, Slash wore a button on his leather jacket that read “I’m With Coco,” featuring an icon of the redheaded displaced Tonight Show host. Apparently, NBC tried to blur out the pin during the broadcast.

Slash pulled off the ultimate act of defiance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” last night — dude rocked a Team Coco pin on the air during his performance at the end of the show.

Though it appears NBC tried to edit around the Conan O’Brien support symbol, a few shots of the pin still managed to make air.

Did Slash really wear an I’m with Coco pin on The Tonight Show last night? NBC doesn’t want you to know, but it’s true.

When Slash was booked to perform on last night’s Tonight Show, NBC surely didn’t think he would show up wearing an I’m with Coco pin. But, he did. Slash went on Leno’s show to proudly and somewhat brazenly show where his loyalties lay in the Late Night Wars.

As expected, Leno’s crew worked around the problem and did all they could do make sure that Slash’s pin didn’t get much camera time. In fact, it only made this brief cameo in the performance.

I think Jay Leno and NBC should expect more scenarios like this. There are still a lot of people out there who miss Conan and think that the was he was treated was really lame. When this all went down, I was hoping that many A-listers would refuse to go on the show with Jay, but that didn’t happen. Stars need to promote their projects, regardless of who’s sitting in the late night chair and how they got there, and the fact is, Jay’s ratings are now beating Letterman again. But I hope people won’t forget how Jay got “his” show back, and the very funny and hard-working guy who is now unemployed as a result. And shame on NBC for trying to block the pin out.

Panicked Szohr then flew to London from LA to beg him to take her back, but sources say Westwick is still deeply hurt.

One source told us, “Jessica recently celebrated her birthday in LA and was being openly affectionate and flirty with Marco. They ended up back at the same hotel, but nobody knows what happened behind closed doors. Her flirty behavior shocked a lot of their friends, so word quickly got back to Ed, who has been filming in Europe.”

Y’all know I don’t care for Chloe Sevigny, or as I like to think of her, “The Budget Christopher Walken”. I think she’s rude and unpleasant and full of herself, but I will give her some credit - she’s been able to fashion a pretty decent career despite her personality disorder, and she’s a pretty good actress. Plus, when she says something crazy rude and unprofessional, at least she has the decency to blame the interviewer. So, I came into this fashion post fully prepared to hate on Chloe. But I can’t really. This isn’t horrible.

The hair is decent (hey, at least it‘s not slicked back, Walken-style), the makeup is light, and Chloe isn’t making her dumb facial expressions in most of these photos, so maybe she wasn’t “exhausted” (or drunk or on something). The dress (or skirt and blouse, whatever) is Proenza Schouler. I like it. It’s the kind of outfit that should be worn by a girl with really great, long legs. Which Chole has… unfortunately, Chloe styled the cute outfit with what looks like old-man boots and black socks? Everything happening below the knee kind of ruins what should have been a great fashion moment:

Jonathan Rhys Meyers is best known for his role as Henry VIII in the Showtime series The Tudors. Henry VIII was of course a rotund drunken womanizer while Meyers is a very thin, pretty drunken Irishman whose womanizing status is up to question. (He has a longterm girlfriend and we don’t hear much about him picking up women.)

Meyers has a new interview with Parade in light of the fourth and final season of The Tudors, which starts airing April 11. He says he’s ready for the next chapter in his life but that he loved the role and his work on the show. He also comes across as vain and completely unapologetic about it. Meyers wasn’t about to sacrifice those razor sharp features and tight abs for a role and says he couldn’t be bothered to gain weight in order to portray Henry VII later in his life.

On not gaining weight to portray Henry VII

“He was a lot heavier and taller than I am, but so what? I think I’d have been stupid to put on a fat suit and I wasn’t about to gain a lot weight. But I think Henry was better looking than he was portrayed in the classic portrait by Hans Holbein. I think he would have hated it. It may be great art, but it’s not a good picture. I’ve seen fat, ugly pictures of Brad Pitt because some paparazzi got him from a bad angle on a bad morning. So how would he feel if that were the sole image of him that would be seen by future generations? He’d be going, ‘What the hell? I was a great looking guy.’”…

As for getting passionate on the set.

“Actually, it’s not unpleasant to get it on with beautiful actresses and you don’t have any nasty repercussions afterward. To make it work, you have to experience a little sexual chemistry. But it can be a bit taxing when you’re doing sex scenes in front of a crew of like a hundred people under hot lights with cameras poking into all sorts of private areas.”

Go ahead and call him a hot hunk.

“I’d rather people think I’m sexy than not. Let’s be honest. Physicality is going to have a bearing on the parts you get. And if you think differently, you’re in the wrong business.”

I love how Meyers justifies not gaining weight for a role by saying that a portrait artist just got Henry VII at a bad angle! The guy was obese as an older man, but Meyers didn’t even want to wear a fat suit to portray him. He just can’t not look pretty. He does do that exceptionally well, you have to give that to him. As much as Meyers was criticized for not physically embodying the legend of Henry VII, he was also praised for making the monarch so damn sexy. One journalist even called him “lickable.”

It looks like there’s plenty of male eye candy on this show. I just discovered another actor that’s arguably more attractive than Meyers - a guy named Henry Cavill who plays Henry VII’s brother in law Charles Brandon. That Brandon guy also looked nothing like the beefcake Cavill, below. Who really cares, though, when you get to stare at hotties like these?

Eddie Cibrian is interviewed in this week’s Parade Magazine, and he continues to be a dipsh-t, basically. This isn’t as bad as the time when he complained about “when you reach a certain point in your career you’re placed in this unfair fishbowl”. No one, not even Eddie himself, can really out-do the amazing “unfair fishbowl” reference, but Eddie does try. I love how he consistently plays the victim in this interview… and I also love how he makes it seem like dating LeAnn Rimes is so f-cking boring and tedious. I can imagine.

If he had the power to heal.

“When I see my sons and any one of them is feeling bad or sick or they fall down and they scrape their knee and they’re crying, obviously, instinctually just as a father, you feel like, ‘Oh god, if I could just put my hand on them and make the pain go away.’ Every parent would really love to be able heal their pain, whether it’s minor or major.”

Miracles happen.

“I truly believe that. I mean, there are a lot of things that happen in life that you cannot explain. Even science can’t explain them. So you’ve got to think that there’s a higher power out there that’s actually creating them. A lot of people just say its luck, but I really believe that there’s something else out there that actually gives us miracles.”

Maybe a miracle would end the media attention surrounding his marriage break-up.

“You kind of realize you can’t really do anything in private. I feel bad for anybody who has to deal with something in their life that becomes public in the media. It’s been tough. I just try to remain steadfast in whatever decisions I make personally. There’s part of my life that’s great and part of my life that’s very difficult. But it doesn’t change the fact that what you do in your personal life is still personal and you have to keep it that way. The world can go on about whatever they think that you should be doing or shouldn’t be doing, but that doesn’t change anything.”

Finding romance with LeAnn Rimes.

“Basically, I hope it’s getting to be old news for everybody. Maybe at one point we had a concern about all the gossip and paparazzi frenzy, but not anymore. Now, when we feel like doing something, we just go out and do it.”

The best part of his new day job.

“Being on CSI: Miami has been great. I mean, I have a great role on a show that’s already popular. Usually, you’re in a new series worrying about whether it’s going to be popular or not. When I came in the ship was running smoothly. Ironically, I was up to speed because I’d just done a pilot in which I played the leader of an FBI evidence response team. I trained with some real FBI agents, so I’d sort of already been there.”

As for taking off his shirt in his first episode.

“I certainly wasn’t trying to be competitive. At least I had a reason; I was trying to save somebody. I mean, David Caruso takes his shirt off three or four times an episode.”

What he’s learned about on-screen passion.

“God, I started out on soap operas where every other scene was a love scene, so I got kind of broken in there. I’ve done some scenes on film and TV where things were even a little bit more risque. You’ve just got to make it look real and believable. No one gives you any advice. They kind of just stick you in the fire to see what happens and if you can handle it. I guess if I had to give somebody advice it would be, ‘Just try to forget that the cameras are there and try to enjoy it. And don’t forget the Altoids.’”

Setting the course for his future.

“There’s always decisions that you have to make and there’s always forks in the road and when you decide to go left, it decides to go right — you know, it takes you in a whole different direction. For me, I always think that what happens is meant to happen, and it happens for a reason, and so I accept it. I’m very optimistic and very just happy in nature. I think it’s born in me. Kindness always wins.”

So, what’s the verdict? Do you think Eddie really loves LeAnn? “Basically, I hope it’s getting to be old news for everybody… Now, when we feel like doing something, we just go out and do it.” I know what he’s saying, he’s trying to play the “we’re hounded every time we go out, it’s such a drag, but we have to ignore it” card. But it comes across like he finds the relationship boring. Maybe that’s just how I’m reading it, and obviously, how I think Eddie must feel. Also - isn’t LeAnn one of those celebrities that pap’s herself? Doesn’t she call them and tell them where she is? If Eddie finds the fame so suffocating, shouldn’t he tell LeAnn to stop calling the paparazzi?

Nike's new Tiger Woods ad - released just hours before the golfer's return to the sport at The Masters - is a confessional, solemn and emotional commercial.

It's also an ad from a sponsor that pays him eight figures a year. Tiger himself says not a single word in the spot, but his melancholy stare speaks volumes.

His late father, Earl Woods, Tiger's mentor (and a known philanderer himself), narrates the Nike commercial, thanks to excerpts from a previous interview.

With the golfer stoic in black and white, Earl's voiceover says: 'Tiger, I am more prone to be inquisitive, to promote discussion. I want to find out what your thinking was. I want to find out what your feelings are, and ... did you learn anything?'

Words that come to mind include 'moving,' 'strange,' 'creepy,' 'bizarre' and 'genius.' It may be a little of each. Nike is clearly seeking to humanize its poster boy, but is this a tactless way of doing it? Is it really just a means of salvaging its own brand?

Jesse James’ rep has simply and unequivocally denied the rumors that any sex tapes exist featuring his client. The stories about the alleged tapes came out a couple of days ago. While they set off my b.s. meter with details including “a mass amount of Nazi paraphernalia” visible in the scenes and Jesse making the Sieg Heil Hitler salute, given all we’ve heard about this guy the existence of sex tapes wouldn’t be surprising.

Jesse’s humiliated wife Sandra Bullock made her first statement on the scandal with a simple denial of the tape. “There is no sex tape. There never has been one and there never will be one.” Now Jesse has followed suit and instead of waxing poetic about how he wants to get back with Sandra and how he’s been wronged by the media, he also put out a brief and to-the-point statement that seems to deny any sex tapes, not just the rumored one with Sandra:

While Bullock denied an Internet report of such a sex tape, James has broadened the denial to also include an online story claiming he’s in at least a dozen sex tapes with other women featuring Nazi-themed paraphernalia.

Does this mean that Jesse fired that extreme idiot of a lawyer who called the coverage of his clients affairs “disgusting” and “sheer voyeurism and bullying“? He seems to be on a better track with this latest plain-worded statement, as opposed to playing the victim on one hand and trying to appeal to Bullock on the other. His lawyer previously said that James “wants to save his marriage with the woman he loves more than anything in his life.” It’s probably too little too late, but at least there’s no video evidence of James sleeping with various skanks on his office coffin couch - if we can believe his denial that is. This is the guy who supposedly swore up and down to Bullock that he was faithful when she confronted him multiple times with her suspicions. It’s not like he’s proven himself to be at all trustworthy.

In related news, Radar reports that Jesse James spent several hundred thousand dollars on his mistresses, primarily in hiring chartered jets to fly them around the country. It’s not inconceivable to imagine that he recorded some tender moments for his later personal enjoyment.

Well, I finally know why Sarah Jessica Parker has been cozying up to all of those Real Housewives. It seems like SJP talked her way into her own Project Runway-like show on Bravo, only instead of promoting up-and-coming fashion designers, SJP is doing a competition with artists. Like, painters and sculptors. It’s called Work of Art: The Next Great Artist (WoA: TNGA, bitches). It premieres on Bravo June 9, and the show has already been filmed, with SJP as executive producer. The show had its “launch” last night in New York, and these photos of SJP in the off-white dress are at the launch. The winner of WoA:TNGA gets $100,00 and a solo show in Brooklyn. So, basically, Hipster Heaven.

Being a devoted mother and glamorous career woman is just all in a day’s work for Sarah Jessica Parker. The actress, who welcomed twins Tabitha and Marion via surrogate ten months ago, spent the afternoon strolling through the streets of New York with one of her daughters yesterday.

The adorable baby girl, who was dressed in a white bonnet, pink jumpsuit and matching cardigan, smiled and giggled as Sarah made her daily trip to collect son James, 7, from school.

Hours later she had transformed into a red carpet star for the launch of new reality TV show Work of Art: The Next Great Artist, which she is executive producing. A few days ago, ex-pat uber-royalist Tina Brown announced an interesting conspiracy theory on her site, The Daily Beast. Tina - who wrote one of the best books about Princess Diana (in my opinion) called The Diana Chronicles - claims that Prince William and Kate Middleton will be announcing their engagement in June, and will likely plan a late Fall/early Winter wedding. Tina’s proof? Buckingham Palace has two consecutive days in June where mysteriously zero events are scheduled, meaning that no one can schedule any media-related events because everyone knows people will only be paying attention to William and Kate? It’s actually a half-decent theory, actually. Here’s more:

Will they or won’t they? London buzzed yesterday with Tina Brown’s new clues about when Prince William and Kate Middleton will announce their long-awaited engagement.

When British Prime Minister Gordon Brown traveled to Buckingham Palace on Tuesday morning to ask Her Majesty’s permission to dissolve parliament and call a general election for May 6, I wonder if another important date on the queen’s calendar was on the conversational agenda.

Buckingham Palace has hardly embraced my suggestion yesterday that June is a likely date for the engagement announcement at last of the 27-year-old Prince William and his patient squeeze, 28-year-old Kate Middleton. A highly placed source in royal circles said that two days in June have been mysteriously blocked out on the palace diaries—June 3 and 4. If June were indeed to be the announcement date, a wedding itself would probably follow in November, like the wedding of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, who married at Westminster Abbey that cold, damp November day in 1947.

A June engagement and winter wedding would make sense all around for the complicated royal priorities. It would come after the turmoil of the Parliamentary general election is over and a new (or the same) prime minister is installed in Downing Street. It would fit neatly with the impending transition in William ’s Royal Air Force career transitions. In January 2011, he leaves the RAF helicopter school at Shawbury and becomes an operational pilot ready for a three-year search-and-rescue tour of duty. An announcement in 2011—another possibility—would run into two landmark moments for the Queen and Prince Philip: Philip will be 90 in June 2011, and the queen celebrates her diamond jubilee—60 years on the throne—in February 2012. Their closeness to their grandson, especially Philip, makes them eager, I am told, to see William settled in matrimony.

But perhaps even more important in planning a winter wedding for the royals is to avoid any throwback seasonable resonance with the legendary February engagement and July wedding of William’s parents, Charles and Diana. Since the inquest into Di’s death was completed two years ago, the palace has been able to damp down considerably the relentless resurfacing of her persistent ghost.

Where will the wedding be held? Di phobia, I predict, will rule out St. Paul’s Cathedral. No bride, even one as good-looking as Ms. Middleton, could compete with those iconic images of the 20-year-old Princess of Wales unfurling her 25-foot silk taffeta train to the world’s cameras on the red carpeted steps of St. Paul’s. St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle is a possibility and very magical if the wedding is held near Christmas. However, it might evoke the too recent debacle of the Windsor wedding of Charles and Camilla, when—since the queen could not attend a registry office wedding featuring a bride who had been (to put it mildly) divorced—the ceremony was banished to the Guildhall nearby.

The obvious top-tier choice is Westminster Abbey, which seats 2,000 and is the final resting place of 17 monarchs but it feels unfashionably grand for the studiedly modern casualness of William and Kate, the daughter, as the press never stops reminding her, of a commoner. Kate herself may be shrewd enough not to want the full royal Monty. Quietly ambitious and gently pushy, she has cannily held her position in the life of England’s most eligible bachelor for seven long years of female competition and relentless press coverage. She knows she will get her shot at Westminster Abbey when she is finally crowned queen, and that’s always been the finale Ms. Middleton has played for.

So where does that leave as a venue? The couple are both independent enough of tradition to surprise us. The British Isles are awash with the choice of beautiful historic churches, abbeys, and cathedrals where one king or another has tied the knot and bestowed a royal precedent. (Note to royal couple: Stay away from Canterbury Cathedral, where Thomas à Becket was whacked near the stairs to the crypt.)

Of course it is always possible that as an alternative to November, the couple braves the ghost of Di’s rhythms for a Christmas announcement and a June 2011 wedding t o coincide with Prince Philip’s birthday on Friday, June 10, 2011, which will bring an influx of foreign royals and relatives. The Queen is very cost-conscious these days and she may feel that three big royal celebrations in a row in three years—wedding, birthday, and diamond jubilee in 2012—will excite press flak for over spending. Moreover, there is talk that William will be posted to Northern Ireland in September once his RAF training is finished. Royal watchers believe it is unlikely he would be sent as a married man.

Whether it is this year or next however, the national mood would benefit from an announcement—whatever similarities William may want to avoid, between his own wedding and that of his parents, he can’t escape the national mood. Just as in 1981, when England was in a shabby, complaining frame of mind after four and a half years of a sclerotic socialist government followed by a grim Thatcherite arrival, so the mood of England now, after 13 years of Labour in power, is mean, mean, mean. With 8 percent unemployment, a recessionary hangover, soaring taxes, and a political class unanimously despised since the parliamentary expenses scandal, the country needs a royal wedding as badly as it did when the young Lady Diana Spencer emerged to bring the British people a rejuvenating image of freshness and renewal.

Whoever is the new prime minister by June should cross their fingers and pray for six months of wedding fever to distract the savage British press.

I love how Tina Brown just assumes she’s correct and goes about theorizing where the wedding will be held. It’s like it’s a national pastime for British folk - discussing Will’s future wedding. And seriously, at this point, he’s made Kate wait so long, some people are bound to be disappointed with whatever wedding choices Will and Kate make. Now, I did say this is a solid theory - one of the most solid I’ve ever read, actually. I’ve been hearing and reading a lot about how the Queen is preparing to take her activities down a notch, and pass more stuff off to Charles, William and Harry. I’ve also heard about the Queen’s (relative) cheapness when it comes to event planning, so I could totally see how the Palaca would be like “Eh, we’ve already got the chairs set out for the Duke birthday, let’s do the wedding tomorrow or whatever.” BUT - is Will ready to marry Waity Katy? I thought he was going to string her along for another few years, honestly.

I never particularly liked Nike after I heard about the sweatshop conditions in which most of their goods are manufactured. Apparently they’ve taken measures to address that, and it’s not like they’re the only company who employs third world workers for very little pay in terrible conditions. I try not to buy their products when possible, and just yesterday I decided against buying a baseball cap with a Nike logo for my son. The thing that really made me pass up the hat, as superficial as it is, was Nike’s continued support of Tiger Woods. I know it’s infinitely worse to exploit people, but the way Nike stood by Tiger was just more evidence of what an arrogant, inflexible company it is.

Tiger starts competing at the Masters today, and Nike has decided to take advantage of that, and address the scandal, with a new ad airing on ESPN and The Golf Channel. The commercial is shot in black and white and features Tiger staring into the camera while a voice over by his departed dad, Earl Woods, gives him a lecture. Earl’s voice says “Tiger, I am more prone to be inquisitive, to promote discussion. I want to find out what your thinking was. I want to find out what your feelings are. And did you learn anything?” Tiger looks wide-eyed and blinks pitifully, the Nike logos visible on his hat and vest.

Just yesterday we heard about yet another Tiger conquest, the 21 year-old daughter of one of his neighbors who slept with him once and then realized that she shouldn’t mess around with a married man. Radar Online reports that the National Enquirer, is about to run the story. They claim that Tiger texted and pursued the young woman after they had sex once in an office in his home, but that “she felt guilty about having sex with a married man and never got back together with him.” Nike apparently doesn’t share this woman’s level of shame at ever having been in bed with Tiger.

What’s this ad supposed to show us, that Nike is associated with lame cheating assh*les? That’s all I get from this, that Nike is the go-to brand for men who piss their lives away and then come crawling back begging for forgiveness.
